We have been designing books for our clients since the mid-90s, particularly in the areas of corporate documentation, and art and culture. Just as we believe that good design is crucial to establishing useful wayfinding and signage systems, or to successful brand identities, we believe that beautiful design is equally central in encapsulating the spirit of a book.

Through thoughtful design decisions such as typographic style, selection and cropping of images, colour palette and layout grids, as well as the papers used, we are able to deliver premium quality books that accurately capture the essence and gravity of the subject matter.

FROM THE ARCHIVES

One of my sketches from the early 1990s

One of my sketches from the early 1990s

Looking forward to my first book commission in the early 1990s, I spent a few weeks reading up on, and exploring layout grids based on the Golden Ratio (or Golden Mean) and the Fibonacci Sequence, seeking the perfect proportions for a book. Although the book did not materialise—I think it was monograph of Eric Peris’ photographs—I have come to appreciate how an understanding of nature’s hidden geometry can produce beautifully proportioned books.  — William Harald-Wong
